How Much Does a Small-Business Website Cost in the UK?
A plain-English guide to realistic website prices, what changes the cost and what should be included in a written quote.
The short answer
A small-business website in the UK can cost from a few hundred pounds for a tightly scoped site to several thousand for bespoke design, content and integrations. Banny Digital currently charges £499 for up to five pages, or £999 for a website plus a small logged-in business app.
The useful question is not only how much a website costs. It is what is included, who does the work and what you will pay after launch. A low headline price can become expensive when copywriting, mobile design, forms, domain setup, search basics and changes are separate extras.
Our £499 website package covers up to five pages, mobile-first design, an enquiry form, click-to-call, SEO setup, Google submission and links to your social profiles. It includes two revision rounds and is normally delivered in five to seven days once we have the information we need.
The £999 website-plus-app package covers up to ten public pages and adds a small logged-in app for bookings, customers, leads and notifications. It is not an unlimited enterprise software build. Larger platforms with complex permissions, integrations or workflows start from £2,500 and are scoped separately.
Ask every supplier for a written list of pages, features, revision limits, ownership, ongoing charges and what happens if you leave. Comparing that list is more useful than comparing one headline number.
What to do next
- Write down the outcome you need before choosing features.
- Ask for scope, ownership and ongoing costs in writing.
- Compare the smallest useful version, not an unlimited wish list.
